My good friend Casey told me that nothing beats going boating on a lake, versus the traditional ocean/waterway that we experience daily here in coastal NC. I didn’t believe him and thought he was crazy….that is until I actually started doing it.
We went to Raleigh for the day to visit Nick, Sarah, and the dogs. Nick was gracious enough to take us cruising on his boat for a few hours on a hot hot afternoon.
Nick got us started with some massive wakeboarding…he is just starting and he is already messing with big air in the wake. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to capture the wipeouts. They were the only things more massive than the air!
The ladies did a great deal of this through the day.
When Lucy arose from the tanning session, she decided to strap on the tube and give it a go.
She got back in the boat, unfazed, and assumed her position.
We packed it up and went back to the house to hang with the dogs a bit. These two are my favorite pups in the world….Morgan and Vinny or Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger as I call em.

Our good friends’ son Colton turned three this weekend and they had a pirate party at the beach to celebrate.
Round 1, we have cupcakes….or just the frosting.

Last year, a few people from work would gather on a Friday afternoon and head to the beach after work with family and friends. Well it is 2010 and the kids are a year older, a year wiser, and a year bolder. The 70 degree ocean was no match for these guys. I am convinced that kids are not fazed by cold water if there are waves to jump. Me on the other hand, I tip-toe around like a wimp, trying not to go deeper than my ankles. My voice is still 3 octaves higher.
