Paper or Plastic

Lucy was all about buying these totes from the market to lug all the groceries out for the opportunity to save a plastic bag or two. I couldn’t understand why anyone would pay for these bags when they offer perfectly functioning plastic bags for free. The more and more she uses them, the cooler I think it is. Consider it our way of doing that little bit to go green.

We are behind the times for sure. When we went to Paris in February, I went to the corner market to pick up some odds and ends to stock our hotel room for the week, took my stuff to the register, and cashed out. The store owner gave me the stink eye when I went to bag my own goodies with the plastic bags hanging there. He charged something measely like 0.10 euro a bag, but still, I was annoyed.

This is definitely where stores in the States are going to, I promise. Get your tote on!

  1. yeah in Europe we embrace the whole environmental thing.. we don’t waste plastic bags on purpose if we see it obviously only has a negative impact. congrats for using your own bags!!
