We decided to hit up one of our favorite spots by the beach, Two Guys Grille, for some much needed chow. It has been a looong time since we enjoyed some sweet potato fries (and artery clogging cinnamon butter).

To walk off the glut, we took a drive to the beach and walked along Johnnie Mercer’s Pier. The sun was setting (behind us for all the West Coasters) and a nice dusk was drifting in.

From the beach, we stopped by a brand new housing development on the way home that has been catching our eye for a while. They had an open house earlier that day but there were still some people milling around. This is going to be one of those monster developments with shops, parks, and mansions, cohabitating in a single space. Pretty cool concept, pretty bad economic timing. The cheapeast house I saw listed was a cool $850,000. In the middle of the three paved roads winding through the development (with more to come for the builder’s sake), there is a pristine park, with flame topped pillars leading you to the immaculate lawn and built-in cement fireplace. I would love to transform my sandy dirt into that….not gonna happen, I know.
